Born to one of the most well-known family of Bollywood one thought Karishma Kapoor, daughter of Babita and Randhir Kapoor, had a silver spoon to her dispensation and all doors would open to her automatically.Her father name is Randhir Kapoor, an actor popular during the 1970s and 80s. Her mother is Babita who was an actress. Her grandfather was the Raj Kapoor; her great grandfather was Prithviraj Kapoor .Her sister is an actress Kareena Kapoor.

Early Life

She spent her early years of schooling in "CATHEDRAL and JOHN CONNAN HIGH SCHOOL" at Fort - Bombay and did her CBSE before she joined "SOPHI COLLEGE for FYJC" in ARTS quitting her education in the end to stage her entry into the Bollywood.

How Started

Karisma made her debut in the 1991 movie Prem Qaidi, which was a semi-hit. Although most of her  releases from 1992-1996 failed to do well at the box office, she had some success with films like Jigar (1992), Anari (1993), Raja Babu (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural (1996) and Jeet (1996).
